Tradesman

WELBRO Building Corporation has an immediate opportunity for a Tradesman with forklift operator experience for a hospitality project in St. Augustine, FL. Commercial construction project experience required. Responsibilities basic carpentry tasks, operating a forklift to lift/carry jobsite materials, operating hand and power tools, and cleaning and preparing of jobsite.  Candidate must have offroad Forklift Operator certification and experience operating on construction jobsites.

Key Duties

• Cleans tools, equipment, materials, and work areas using a broom, mop, or pressure washer.
• Lifts, carries, and holds building materials, tools, debris, waste, supplies, and furniture; loads/unloads materials from trucks; assists with inventory control and distribution.
• Select tools, equipment, and materials from storage and transport items to work area
• Digs, spreads, and levels dirt and gravel to a fine grade using a pick and shovel.
• Installs and/or assists in installing handrails and guardrails
• Assists in erecting and dismantling scaffolding, shoring, and bracing.
• Grinds and sands surfaces such as concrete or wood; pulls nails using a cats paw/flat bar.
• Assists in rough and finish carpentry activities
• Assists in and/or performs hanging doors and installing hardware
• Adheres to all safety regulations and procedures including reporting any potential hazards

Requirements:

• Minimum one (1) year commercial construction experience working for a general contractor as a forklift operator, laborer, or similar.
• Forklift Operator certification
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry tools, materials, and equipment up to 50 pounds and must frequently climb up and down ladders, scaffolds, and other equipment.
• Fundamental knowledge of OSHA standards and ability to adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
