WELBRO Breaks Ground on Hotel Melby
Willow Street Capital, Duke Hospitality, and their capital partner, LCP Group through a joint venture, announced they have broken ground on the Hotel Melby, a new Tapestry Collection by Hilton hotel in Melbourne, Florida Hilton (NYSE: HLT). Anticipated to open in late 2020, the new build property will bring casual sophistication to the heart of Florida’s Space Coast, minutes away from the Orlando Melbourne International Airport.
“We are thrilled to see this project begin construction on this landmark hotel, made possible by outstanding partnerships with The LCP Group, Centennial Bank, the City of Melbourne and the downtown Melbourne community,” said Miguel Rivera, principal of Willow Street Capital, the group leading the development. “This hotel’s incredible building and beautiful design will allow us to provide our hotel and rooftop guests a relaxing, fun and memorable experience as we surround them with world-class hospitality.”
The stylish, 156-room hotel will be the first in Melbourne within walking distance to dining, shopping and nightlife. A stunning wrap-around rooftop will offer unbeatable water and city views as well as a bar and lounge. The hotel will also offer meeting spaces equipped with state-of-the-art technology, providing an unparalleled experience in the heart of the historic downtown district. Designed by Malcolm Berg’s award-winning EoA Group in collaboration with Overcash Demmit Architecture, the building will be constructed by WELBRO Building Corporation. The hotel will be managed by Duke Hospitality, an experienced operator, developer and owner of hotels, with 13 properties already in its portfolio.
